i(no)Tunes?

It appears that Apple (you know, the Mac and iPod/iTunes folk), and Universal (big mega entertainment corp) are at odds and ultimately fighting about Universal selling music through iTunes.  Universal is basically refusing to enter into a long term deal, and given Steve Jobs (head of Apple) unpredictable reactions to things, Apple might just not care and pull the plug on Universal anyway just to try and show who’s boss.

Why do I mention this, you ask?  Well, mainly because it bugs me, and I wanted to point this out to everyone.  Here you have two very large businesses that are making lots of money doing what they do.  They are now getting greedy, and deciding that the mega millions they are making isn’t enough, so they start warring with each other.  In the end, who is it that gets the shaft?  Yep, that’s right.  We do, the consumer.  If these children don’t place nice, we either start paying a lot more for stuff through iTunes, or Universal pulls their catalog and we can’t buy anything at all.  If you don’t have an iPod or use iTunes, then it doesn’t affect you.  However, there are lots of folk who do and does.  This is another example of big corps that don’t care or think about the people that made/make them a success in the first place, the people spending money on their crap.

If you are interested, read the story for yourself.  If you think I am wrong (or right), tell me about it.
