It’s called Tilt-a-Whirl and the author is Chris Grabenstein, cool name eh’? This book is a really cool and twisted tale about two police officers and a murder/kidnap plot in sleepy little vacation resort town. I don’t want to give anything away, so I will stop there, but let me tell you the plot has more twists and turn in it that Lombard Street. Aside from being a darn good story, I also liked it because it is a detective and crime genre story, but it’s (how do I put this and have it make sense?) told in a lighthearted kind of way, which is actually a refreshing change of pace coming from the more serious and suspensful Michael Connelly and Lee Child books. Great writers as well, but it was nice to change up and lighten up too. So, that being said, I highly recommend it, you won’t be sorry!

I just finished reading Starship Troopers by Robert Heinlein. Wow, what an amazing book, it’s freakin’ awesome. Let me tell you something, the movie that came out with the same name … well, that’s the only thing it has in common with the book, the name. I have been a HUGE Heinlein fan for years (hence the nickname Laz), and I hadn’t read this book until now. Dang, I didn’t know what I was missing. Heinlein gets it right in this book, he pegs modern culture and I think has lots of answers for problems we have today, and he wrote it what … 40 years ago or more? Ok, especially if you are into military anything, go get Starship Troopers and read it, it’s a quick read and it’s awesome. Also, if you aren’t familiar with Robert Heinlein, check out his books, he is an amazing author. I am even a member of the Heinlein Society, and come to think of it, you should be a member too!
