Not to say that Breast Cancer as a charity is bad, far from it. However, in what is becoming a sad trend, I received a call from a charity claiming to be promoting Breast Cancer Awareness and soliciting donations. When I asked how much of the donation went to “overhead” versus how much actually goes to the charity, I was met with a lot of ums and uhs and finally I was turned over to a manager. The manager informed me that a whole whopping 20% goes to the charity while 80% goes to “overhead”. Yet another example of a charity you should not give money to. This kind of scam just makes me sad, mad too naturally, but also sad. People that are willing to give what they can, and I know some folk that don’t have anything to spare and still donate, only to have their wonderful gift wasted by unscrupulous and greedy people with zero morals. I only wish that these fake charities and solicitors could go to jail for this crap. In some cases, the charity itself is legit and even takes the stance that you shouldn’t give to certain solicitors, but it’s those same solicitors that ruin it for the good ones. In short, the message here is to be careful and always ask how much goes to the people who need it, and how much goes for “overhead”.

I am sorry to say that I couldn’t get more information about this solicitor, they were in a big hurry to get off the phone once I started asking questions. However, I did capture the number that came up on the caller ID. So if you get a call from 866-825-2610 it is probably the same people so watch out!

I find it funny that we have a radio golf analyst (what!?) that makes a joke about Nancy Pelosi begging for forgiveness while Barack Hussein Obama laughs heartily over a joke from Wanda Sykes about Rush Limbaugh’s kidneys failing. It’s all over the news, this guy cracking wise about Pelosi, and people are on his tail for it. I don’t see anyone pressuring Obama to apologize? No bias in the media? Pffft, as if. Anyone who says there is no media bias is either a moron or so far swung one direction or another that they must be part of the bias.

A) Politely asks them to fix the error?
B) Acts like an ass and demands that they fix the error?
C) Calls 911 to report his missing sauce?
D) Calls 911 because officers aren’t responding fast enough?
E) C and D!?

Yep, E, you guessed it. This moron calls 911 over his sandwich, and then calls back because officers haven’t arrived fast enough! What a moron! Some people just defy words to describe them.

Kathy Griffin, the no talent hack and attempt at a comedian, has finally won an award, she got her emmy. This should no doubt be a shining example as to the declining value of an emmy, but I digress. Now, I didn’t like Kathy Griffin in the first place, let me be clear. I have never thought she was funny, she isn’t pretty, and most of the time her acts sway between boring, petty and offensive. I mean, come on, she is the whitest woman around and gets away with doing a show about being a mad black woman? Why aren’t the sisters out there kicking her ass? This being said, I didn’t really care. She can go do her thing and I don’t have to watch, and if someone, somewhere out there is desperate enough to watch her, good for her.

Then she has to really pull the strings with me, and be an ass in front of everyone when she finally wins an award. Lots of folk who win awards thank God, or Jesus, however it suits them. I understand this, I try to thank Him everyday for the wonderful gifts I have received in life, good and bad. I can also understand when someone doesn’t thank God, because it’s not what they believe. That’s cool, you do your thing and I’ll do mine. But, what about people who can’t even be professional adults, and have to get up and insult God and make fun of those believers that give Him some credit?

Herein I refer once again to Kathy Griffin, who, upon accepting her award had this to say:

“A lot of people come up here and thank Jesus for this award. I want you to know that no one had less to do with this award than Jesus, suck it, Jesus. This award is my god now.”

Then, when asked about what she said later, she added:

“I hope I offended some people. I didn’t want to win the Emmy for nothing.”

Nice huh?

First off, she can believe whatever she wants, I don’t care. But why does she have to attack people who are different than her, showing what a pathetic loser she is in the process? If she had gone on stage and said something similar about black people, or muslims, look out because she’d be under the jail now.

I think it’s sad that she has such a low self esteem that her emmy is her “god now”, and I don’t mean that from any religious or biblical reference. Quite frankly, anyone that puts that much weight into a stupid award, to let that silly little statue have that much impact on your person is sad, and it shows how many problems you have. Another sad thing, since Hollyweird is so left leaning, I bet that remark will only get her more success and awards as she is welcomed into the Soros-Moore-ian folds of the anti-God, anti-Morals, anti-any-type-of-self-responsibility crowd. I for one will make sure she never graces my TV again, although she rarely did in the first place. Interestingly enough, the remarks she made have been cut from the recorded emmy show and won’t be repeated when it’s broadcast on TV. So, other than some news coverage on the ‘net, she will get away with it without repercussion. Hmm, a free pass, kinda like what I was saying earlier.

What? You think old Laz is being too hard on Elton John? Yeah, sure. Check this out. Elton John has come out, no not that, he’s already out of the closet. He’s come out and said that we need to close down the Internet for at least five years. Yeah, you read that right. Why, you ask? Well, he says the following to name a few:

“The internet has stopped people from going out and being with each other, creating stuff. “

“Instead they sit at home and make their own records, which is sometimes OK but it doesn’t bode well for long-term artistic vision”

“We’re talking about things that are going to change the world and change the way people listen to music and that’s not going to happen with people blogging on the internet.”

“Hopefully the next movement in music will tear down the internet.”

“I do think it would be an incredible experiment to shut down the whole internet for five years and see what sort of art is produced over that span.”

“In the early Seventies there were at least ten albums released every week that were fantastic. Now you’re lucky to find ten albums a year of that quality.”

I mean, come on. I don’t even have to tear this apart, the lunacy stands on it’s own. Having more people able to write and express themselves stifles creativity? Umkay. This from the guy that streamed his last concert over the ‘net to thousands of people? But yet, the ‘net is a bad thing? What a hypocrite.

Personally, I think big E needs to go back to his piano and do what he is good at, and leave the techno hypothesizing alone.

*cough* Why? This group didn’t contribute anything good to music the first time around, so why the heck are they coming back. Just because one of them married a UK soccer player and someone, somewhere thinks they can make a reality show and reunion tour out of it? Oh come on, are people actually paying money to see this crap? Let me tell you what I want, what I really, really want. I want some people with talent and actual musical skill to get the big record deals, people like Jonathan Coulton, Will Kimbrough and Chris Barron. Talk about contributing truck loads of talent and good tunes to the musical world, these guys are but a few of the awesome folk out there who are on the pure genius level, but don’t get the big record deals for some reason. Ok, Chris Barron was in the Spin Doctors, I’ll give you that. But he is putting out great stuff as a solo artist too. Oh well, I guess as long as people are going to want synthetic crap for music, acts like the spice girls will still be around.
